In order to appease Baba Marta, our grandmothers brought something red to the yard before sunrise - a yarn, a belt, a garment - and left it under a fruit tree or under the eaves to stay for nine full days. It was believed that red would cheer up Baba Marta and the weather would be good.

On the occasion of March 1 - the traditional Bulgarian day of Baba Marta - Municipal Institute "Ancient Plovdiv", house "Stambolyan" (Permanent exhibition of Dimitar Kirov) and house "Dr. Stoyan Chomakov" (Permanent exhibition of Zlatyu Boyadzhiev) organize for children from 6 to 18 years Martenitsa workshops "Create a Martenitsa, give happiness".

The workshops will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, at the Stambolyan house, and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, at the "Dr. Stoyan Chomakov" house ".
